An Agreement between the City of Rossville and Walker County for the 2016 Byrne Justice Assistance Grant.
This agreement will provide Rossville with $14,275.60 from the JAG award for improved technology project.

2. Permanent Street Closure
Thriving Committee is requesting the permanent closure of an area of city street/right of way (bisecting the Pond
Area at the John Ross House) to parking and vehicular traffic, Closure would enhance pedestrian safety and
encourage an uninterrupted space for citizens and visitors.

Second and Final Reading of an Ordinance to improve the appearance and cleanliness of the Rossville Duck
Ponds by prohibiting fishing.

The duck ponds have filamentous algae and American elodea growing in them. The city has contacted a
certified aquatic management company for treatment of both ponds. The aquatic management specialist will use
aquatic herbicides, shading dyes, and triploid grass carp. Due to the treatment of the ponds and adding 40
grass carp, there will be no fishing allowed in the duck ponds

III. New Business

1. Request for Variance 515 Carden Avenue
Ken Brooks requested a lot size variance in order to build a new home. Mr. Brooks proposes to build an 800
square foot ranch style house with two bedrooms and two baths and a carport. The Planning Commission has
no objections to the request.

2. Authorization - Inter- Jurisdictional Agreement
Authorization for Mayor Harris to sign the agreement concerning waste water treatment with the City of
Chattanooga, once the contract has been amended to the city's satisfaction.
